Games Leaving PS Plus: July 2026

Share:

Eight games are gone from the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog as of July 21, 2026, and the headline loss is Risk of Rain 2, one of the best co-op roguelikes on the platform. City-builder Tropico 6 and the clever golf roguelite Cursed to Golf went with it. These are catalog removals, not claimable monthly games, so if you didn't finish them, here's exactly where things stand and what's replacing them.

Games Leaving by Tier

Essential Monthly Games Leaving

None this month. No PS Plus Essential monthly games were part of the July departures. June's Essential lineup (Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide) stopped being claimable on July 7 when July's new batch arrived, but that's a normal monthly swap, not a July removal. If you want July's Essential games (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For the King II, CrossCode), claim them before August 3, 2026. Once claimed, they're yours as long as you keep PS Plus Essential or higher.

Extra/Premium Games Leaving

All eight titles below left the Extra and Premium catalog on July 21, 2026.

Game Tier Metacritic Time to Beat Leave Date
Risk of Rain 2 Extra, Premium 85 (PC) ~11 hrs July 21, 2026
The Jackbox Party Pack 9 Extra, Premium 81 (PC) No fixed length July 21, 2026
Tropico 6 Extra, Premium 76 (PS4) ~25 hrs July 21, 2026
Infinite Minigolf Extra, Premium 75 (PS4) No fixed length July 21, 2026
Cursed to Golf Extra, Premium 74 (PS5) ~6.5 hrs July 21, 2026
Hundred Days – Winemaking Simulator Extra, Premium 74 (PC) ~3 hrs (main) July 21, 2026
Get Even Extra, Premium 71 (PS4) ~7–13 hrs July 21, 2026
Source of Madness Extra, Premium 67 ~4 hrs (main) July 21, 2026

A quick note on the scores: Metacritic doesn't have enough PlayStation reviews to post a Metascore for a few of these, so Risk of Rain 2 (85), Jackbox 9 (81), and Hundred Days (74) show their PC scores. They're solid on PS5/PS4 too, but those aren't PlayStation-specific numbers.

These games have been removed from the catalog. Unlike Essential monthly games, Extra and Premium titles can't be permanently claimed. If you want to keep playing one, you'll need to buy it or wait to see if it ever rotates back in.

Don't Miss: Priority Picks

1. Risk of Rain 2

This is the one to be sad about. Risk of Rain 2 is a third-person roguelike shooter that turns into beautiful chaos the longer a run goes, and it's arguably the best drop-in co-op game in the entire batch. The loop of stacking items until you're deleting whole screens of enemies never really gets old.

Time commitment: A single run is roughly 11 hours to "beat," but the real draw is dozens of hours of replay across characters and difficulty tiers.

Requires: PS Plus Extra or higher.

2. Tropico 6

If you like management sims, Tropico 6 is the deepest time-sink here. You play El Presidente, building out an island nation across four eras while juggling politics, your economy, and the occasional need to rig an election. It's the kind of game where "one more decade" turns into a lost evening.

Time commitment: Around 25 hours to work through its standalone scenarios, with plenty more in sandbox mode.

Requires: PS Plus Extra or higher.

3. Cursed to Golf

The best quick-and-clever pick of the group. Cursed to Golf is a roguelite that reimagines golf as a run-based dungeon crawl, complete with power-up cards and hole-by-hole hazards. It's easy to pick up, hard to put down, and short enough to actually finish.

Time commitment: About 6.5 hours for the main path, closer to 10 if you chase everything.

Requires: PS Plus Extra or higher.

Quick Takes on the Rest

  • The Jackbox Party Pack 9 (81 PC): Five party mini-games built for a room full of people and phones. No campaign to finish, so it's more of a "have friends over" loss than a solo one.
  • Infinite Minigolf (75 PS4): Arcade mini-golf with user-created courses and online play. Endless by design, fun in short bursts, nothing you need to rush back to.
  • Hundred Days – Winemaking Simulator (74 PC): A cozy, surprisingly deep sim about running a vineyard. Around 3 hours for the basics, much longer if you get invested in the business side.
  • Get Even (71 PS4): A moody psychological first-person thriller from 2017 with a genuinely interesting narrative hook. Runtime estimates land anywhere from 7 to 13 hours depending on how much you explore.
  • Source of Madness (67): A Lovecraftian side-scrolling action roguelite with a wild AI-generated monster gimmick. Roughly 4 hours to see the main path, more if the loop grabs you.

FAQ: Games Leaving PS Plus

What's the difference between Essential and Extra/Premium games leaving?
Essential monthly games can be claimed permanently and stay in your library as long as you keep a subscription. Extra and Premium catalog titles, like all eight this month, are removed entirely. You can't claim them, so once they're gone, they're gone unless you buy them.

Can I still play claimed Essential games?
Yes. Any Essential monthly game you claimed stays playable as long as you maintain your PS Plus subscription at Essential or higher.

Will these games come back?
Possibly, but there's no guarantee. Extra and Premium catalog titles rotate in and out, and some do return later, but Sony doesn't commit to a timeline.

What if I was mid-playthrough of one of these Extra games?
Your save data isn't going anywhere, but you can't launch the game through PS Plus anymore. To keep playing now, buy the title. Otherwise you'll have to wait and hope it rotates back into the catalog.

What's Coming to Replace Them

Sony added nine games to Extra and Premium across July to offset the removals:

PS Plus Extra:

  • Rise of the Ronin (PS5), added July 15
  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (PS5), added July 21
  • Firefighting Simulator: Ignite (PS5), added July 21
  • Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind (PS5, PS4), added July 28
  • Dying Light (PS4), added July 28
  • Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (PS5), added July 28
  • Snow Bros. Wonderland (PS5), added July 28

PS Plus Premium (Classics):

  • Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (PS5, PS4), added July 21
  • Indigo Prophecy (PS4), added July 21

Heads up for next month: five titles originally slated for July (Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Onee Chanbara Origin, Space Crew, Bomber Crew, and Roki) were pushed to August 18, 2026, alongside removals like Dead Island 2 and Unicorn Overlord. We'll have the full August departures list when it's finalized.
