PS Plus Monthly Games: August 2026
Sony has confirmed three PS Plus Monthly Games for August 2026: Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, the cult horror hit Signalis, and a brand-new co-op release, Big Walk. It's a genuinely varied month, with a heavily updated AAA headliner, a same-day launch, and a beloved indie all landing on August 4. Heads up: Sony revealed the lineup a day early this time, on July 28 instead of the usual last Wednesday. Here's what's coming and whether each game is worth your time.

Game Highlights
Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition (PS5, PS4)
This is the big one. Dying Light 2 is an open-world, first-person action RPG built around two things: parkour and killing zombies. You traverse the ruined city of Villedor by vaulting, climbing, and sprinting across rooftops, then drop into brutal melee combat when the infected catch up. Your choices reshape the world and the story as you go, so no two playthroughs look quite the same. It's from Techland, and it supports up to four-player online co-op if you'd rather bring friends along for the chaos.
The base game landed a 76 on Metacritic back in 2022, "generally favorable" but not a masterpiece. The version you're getting, the Reloaded Edition, folds in years of post-launch updates, fixes, and DLC, so it's a far more complete package than the one critics originally scored. There's no separate Metascore for Reloaded, but the extra content is real, and it's the reason this game keeps showing up on "still worth playing" lists.
Time-wise, the main story runs about 20 to 25 hours, and you're looking at 70 to 80 hours if you chase side content. Techland once claimed 500 hours for a true 100% run, which is more of a fun fact than a realistic goal. If you want the headline value of this month's lineup, start here.

Signalis (PS4)
If you want something that gets under your skin, Signalis is it. This is a retro-inspired, top-down psychological survival horror game where you play as Elster, a technician Replika searching a bleak sci-fi world for her missing partner. Think tense exploration, inventory and environmental puzzles, and an atmosphere that stays unsettling from start to finish. It's the kind of game people won't shut up about once they've played it, and for good reason.
It carries the highest Metacritic score of the month at 80 on PS4 (it scored even higher on other platforms), and it's widely considered one of the standout indie horror games of the last few years. It's from developer rose-engine and published by Humble Games. One note: it's a PS4 title, but it plays just fine on PS5 through backward compatibility.
Best part for a busy month? It's short. The main story clocks in around 6 to 9 hours, with 13 to 16 if you go for everything. That makes it the easiest game here to actually finish.
Play if you like: Resident Evil (classic era), Silent Hill, Observer, Hylics
Big Walk (PS5)
Here's the wildcard, and honestly the most exciting perk of the month. Big Walk is a brand-new social co-op adventure from House House, the studio behind Untitled Goose Game, published by Panic. It's all about teamwork and, well, talking. You and your friends explore a wide-open world, solve puzzles, and cover ground together, with proximity voice chat and crossplay built in. It supports anywhere from 2 to 12 players.
The catch is that it's brand new, so there's no Metacritic score or playtime data yet. It launches August 4, 2026, the exact same day it hits PS Plus, and it's also coming to Steam and Switch 2. Getting a day-one release for free is a genuinely nice bonus, and House House has the pedigree to make the gamble worth it. Just go in knowing it's unproven, and that you'll get the most out of it with a group.
Play if you like: Untitled Goose Game, It Takes Two, A Way Out, Death Stranding (the walking, not the shooting)
Value Assessment
This is a well-rounded, above-average month. The two scored titles average out to a 78 on Metacritic (Signalis at 80, Dying Light 2 at 76), and the genre spread is excellent: a massive open-world action RPG, an atmospheric horror gem, and a quirky social co-op adventure. There's something here for basically everyone.
On playtime, you're looking at 30-plus hours just running the main paths of Dying Light 2 and Signalis, and 70 to 80 hours if you dig into Dying Light 2's side content. Big Walk's length depends entirely on how much you and your crew want to wander.
Is it perfect? No. Dying Light 2's base score is "good, not great," and the game is 2022-era, even if the Reloaded Edition patches over a lot of that. Big Walk is a total unknown until reviews land. And platforms matter here: Signalis is PS4-only (fine on PS5 via back-compat), Big Walk is PS5-only, and only Dying Light 2 covers both. Still, a real AAA headliner plus a same-day launch plus a cult-favorite indie makes this a stronger month than most.
